This entry is a double feature. Yesterday the Butler men’s soccer team went against SIUE and today the women’s soccer team went against LSU. The men’s game was at night and the women’s was during the day. The weather was absolutely beautiful for both games. I’m glad the weather was good because I was on the field operating the portable scoreboard. The portable scoreboard had different controls than the main scoreboard but I caught on quick. The main scoreboard is still having issues. I don’t know when it will be fixed but I would like them to hurry up. However, I don’t mind being down on the field when the weather is nice. You get a better view and experience of everything that happens on the field when you’re down there. My role was pretty much the same besides the type of scoreboard that I used.
During the men’s game against SIUE there was a lot of trash talk, profanity, and just overall aggression. They pushed, grabbed, tripped, and bumped all night long. I guess that’s why I’ve notice more injuries in the men’s games. I found it more interesting than the actual game. However, the results of the game were Butler: 2 and SIUE: 0. It was a solid win for them. It’s a different game when watching the men and the women. The game was supposed to take place in Bloomington, IN not a Butler. The ladies were participating in a tournament and the winner of the game would be declared the champion. During the women’s game against LSU there was so much communication and control. There is still a high level of competitiveness and aggression but they are better to look at in my opinion. I can say I do enjoy them women’s games better. However, the men’s team seem like a more talented team overall. The ladies competed to the end but came up short. The results of the game were Butler: 1 and LSU: 2. I thought the game would go into overtime but the tigers scored a goal with two minutes to go in the game. I guess its back to the drawing board for the lady dawgs. Well until next time, be blessed. GO DAWGS!!!!
