I had 2 events for this Halloween weekend. Yesterday, it was Butler men’s soccer vs. Marquette Golden Eagles. Today, it was Butler women’s basketball vs Hanover Panthers. I was the host for both games.
The soccer match against Marquette was an important one because a win or a loss would affect the rankings for the Big East Tournament. It was also senior night which means it’s the last regular season home game. The Bulldogs have had an impressive season thus far. It would be good to see them in post season action. Butler didn’t disappoint. The final score was Butler: 2 and Marquette: 1. Butler goals were scored by David Goldsmith and Lewis Suddick. The Marquette goal was scored by Diego Nunez. Butler plays Xavier next week to wrap up the season. As the fall sports come to an end the winter sports start up. The first game of the season would be an exhibition match against the Hanover Panthers. Exhibition games offer a look into how teams look and what they need to work on. Based on the track record and talent of both teams it seemed like Butler would win this game without a problem. I was right. The lady dawgs won with the score of Butler: 91 and Hanover: 39. Even though Butler won they have some things to improve upon in order to beat more talented teams. I look forward to watching the women’s basketball team as the season goes on. Well, that’s all I have. Until next time, be blessed. GO DAWGS!!!!
