Today the Butler volleyball team would play their final game of the 2016 season. The Butler Bulldogs would face the DePaul Blue Demons. It was senior day so they honored their seniors with a special ceremony. Jessica Klingensmith #7 was the only senior on the Butler volleyball roster. She is getting a bachelor’s in bio-mechanical engineering which means she is very intelligent. Klingensmith received flowers, a framed jersey with her name on it and a bag full of miscellaneous goodies. Butler also gave flowers to the seniors of DePaul. That says a lot about their program. I was the host and the scoreboard operator. The lady dawgs showed-up and showed-out for the last game of the season. Butler defeat DePaul 3-0. It was a dominating performance. Set scores were: (set 1) Butler 25 – DePaul 16, (set 2) Butler 25 – DePaul 11, & (set 3) Butler 25 – DePaul 19. Leaders in statistics for the Bulldogs were Anna Logan (15 kills), Christina Porada (2 aces), Jessica Klingensmith (4 blocks), Makayla Ferguson (28 assists), and Taylor Takeda (15 digs). Leaders for the Blue Demons were Myah Reed (7 kills), Caitlyn Coffey (2 blocks), and Colleen Smith (18 assists & 7 digs). Butler will finish the season with a record of 20-14. The Blue Demons will finish with a record of 13-17. Good work ladies. I have a men’s basketball game tomorrow so stay tuned. GO DAWGS!!!
