On Saturday the Butler football team took on the Marist Red Foxes for their 2016 Homecoming Game. There was tailgating, alumni gatherings, fraternity / sorority group gatherings, and the Bulldogs Beauty Contest going on in the parking lot before the game. It was a site to see. It was a beautiful day to play football. I would say low 70s with plenty of sunshine. I was in charge of hosting the visiting team and prepping game-day operations. The Bulldogs came into the game with a 2-3 record while the visiting Red Foxes came in with a 1-3 record. Both teams were looking for a win to get back on track. The Bulldogs and the Red Foxes fought long and hard but it would be Marist that would come out on top. Check out the scoring summary below:
The final score would be Marist 30 – Butler 21. Butler’s secondary couldn’t handle the Marist wide receivers. They were just too fast and athletic. I wanted to play so bad because I could have helped them out in the secondary. Anyone who knows me knows that I used to lock wide receivers down on my island. The passing attack had a huge impact on the game. It was frustrating to watch. However, in close games like these it comes down to who wants it more. Obviously, Marist wanted it more that day. The Bulldogs are now 2-4 with the next game at Davidson. This season is shaping up to be a bad one. There still is time to salvage the rest of their season and turn it into a positive note. Well that’s all I have. Tonight is Monday Night Futbol. Stay tuned for my next post. GO DAWGS!!!
