Yesterday I worked my first volleyball game. I’ve watched a few but never worked on. I was in charge of operating the scoreboard. Neal said I needed practice because I would be operating the scoreboard for the 2016 Big East Volleyball Tournament. It’s a big honor for Butler to host this tournament and I’m glad to be a part of it. Volleyball is one of my top 5 sports to watch.
The Butler Bulldogs faced the Marquette Golden Eagles in a volleyball match that decide their fate. The Bulldogs needed to win the match in order to keep their Big East Tournament hopes alive. However, the lady dawgs couldn’t pull out the match win. Marquette defeated Butler 3 sets to 1: (set 1) Butler 25 – Marquette 22, (set 2) Butler 20 – Marquette 25, (set 3) Butler 20 – Marquette 25, (set 4) Butler 22 – Marquette 25. Marquette got the victory with strong efforts from Taylor Louis (25 kills), Sara Blasier (45 assists & 16 digs). Butler played hard though. Their leaders were Anna Logan (18 kills, 2 aces, & 3 blocks), Makayla Ferguson (41 assists), and Taylor Takeda (20 digs). It was a disappointing lost but they have one more match on Sunday. Hopefully they go out with a bang. Stay tuned. GO DAWGS!!!
