Today the Butler Bulldogs would face the Creighton Bluejays in the 2016 Big East Men’s Soccer Championship. Both teams have battled all season long to get to this point. The atmosphere was amazing for this match-up. There were about 2,500 in attendance and it was a beautiful day for soccer.
I’ve watched the Butler men’s soccer team all season long. This game was the most physical game that I’ve seen thus far. It was literally a battle. The men will definitely feel it tomorrow. However, it was an exciting game. The young men were playing their hearts out. At the end of it all one heart would be broken. The Bluejays would walk away with the broken hearts. Butler defeated Creighton 2 – 1. Goals were scored by Myles Englis of Creighton, Isaac Galliford and Eric Leonard of Butler. The Bulldog won means that they get an automatic spot in the 2016 NCAA National Men’s Soccer Tournament. Over the past months I’ve gotten to know some of the players and I’m proud of them. I hope they do well in the national tournament. However, for now they should enjoy being Big East Champions. GO DAWGS!!!!
